Don’t miss this chance to be seen and heard by Merri Sugarman and get expert coaching and feedback on your audition cut! This class will be run like a professional Broadway audition, with the added benefit of a group setting and working notes.
WHAT TO PREPARE: A short song selection (16-32 bar audition cut) in the appropriate key OR a one-minute monologue. Please have an accompaniment track (YouTube tracks are fine).
Merri Sugarman is a top Casting Director at Tara Rubin Casting and is responsible for casting TREVOR, THE MUSICAL, SCHOOL OF ROCK the Musical, AIN’T TOO PROUD, LES MISERABLES, A BRONX TALE, MISS SAIGON, and many more. She has watched thousands of actors audition and has an expert eye for what will work in the audition room. She is not only a master teacher but a terrific human being who is great with kids!
Ages 10-18 of all skill levels. Strictly limited to 15 students. Please do not register for this class if you’re under 10 years old.
Work one-on-one with Merri Sugarman of Tara Rubin Casting, the Casting Director behind the Broadway smash hit SCHOOL OF ROCK the Musical as well as the just announced revival of The Who’s TOMMY! Merri is also responsible for casting the Off-Broadway kid-heavy show TREVOR, based on the Academy Award winning short film and the Broadway production of A BRONX TALE, directed by Robert DeNiro and Jerry Zaks among many others. She is a proud Tony Voter, a Big Sister with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Association of America and a member of the Casting Society of America. Tara Rubin's office is currently casting the Broadway productions and National Tours of DEAR EVAN HANSEN, ALADDIN, JERSEY BOYS, THE BAND’S VISIT, CATS and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Upcoming projects include the Broadway musicals SIX and SING STREET. Past projects include MAMMA MIA!, BILLY ELLIOT, MARY POPPINS, THE PRODUCERS, THE LITTLE MERMAID, SPAMALOT, THE PRODUCERS, SHREK, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, FALSETTOS and SUNSET BOULEVARD - just to name a few. They are also the casting company for regional theaters such as Yale Rep, Berkeley Rep, The Old Globe and The La Jolla Playhouse.
