ASSOCIATE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR / VOCAL TECHNIQUE / SONG PERFORMANCE COACH

WHY I COACH I coach with the hope of bringing a sense of camaraderie and passion to the next generation of musical theater performers. Seeing a young actor’s eyes light up with the recognition that something was just made possible that wasn’t there a moment ago and that there are always new discoveries and growth to be made at any age keeps me coaching.

Brett is a director, audition coach, and vocal technician who has been living and working in NYC for the past fifteen years. As a director he has worked both professionally and within the educational system at AMDA, Stagedoor Manor, Wanderlust Theatre Company and Celebrity Cruises Productions. He attended The University of California, Irvine’s Theatre & Dance Department and is a proud member of Actor's Equity having performed in shows regionally, on tour, and in NYC. Brett has worked extensively with BKA as a coach, vocal technician and director for the past eight years and is also a teaching artist and director for Inside Broadway, bringing the theatrical arts to NYC public schools.

Brett believes that regardless of age, everyone has a story to tell and that one of the most fulfilling and personal ways to share our stories is through the performing arts. While coaching, his goal is to always align the passion of performance with the technical background required to sustain a career, especially for young singers and actors who are just beginning to understand all of the amazing things they have to offer not only the industry but the world at large.

Mr. Teresa holds a BA in Drama from the University of California at Irvine.

SONG / MONOLOGUE / SCENE STUDY COACH / COLLEGE PREP

WHY I COACH In my fifteen years of being a professional actor and theater director, I know first hand how stressful audition preparation can be. As a perfectionist, I would whip myself into a frenzy chasing the elusive “perfect” audition. What I have experienced from my time as a director behind the audition table is that perfect doesn’t get the job. What stands out in the audition room are passionate, honest, surprising, joyful performances! My focus as an audition coach is to diffuse the audition stress with technique, preparation, and PLAY!! I love helping my students get out of their heads and into their hearts, enjoying the freedom of living spontaneously in the moment while delivering a dynamic, polished audition.

Eric LOVE is a New York City based theatre director specializing in magical plays and epic musicals. From 2016-2022 he served as Director of Education & Associate Artistic Director for Northern Stage, a LORT-D regional theatre in White River Junction, Vermont. While at Northern Stage, Love championed the Youth Ensemble Studio, a troupe of 32 actors from 12-18 years old who put on three productions a year. Love was also the Director of Boot Camp, a scholarship pre-college training program for juniors and seniors in high school who are passionate about pursuing a career in the arts. In the summer, Love directed huge Summer Musical Theater Intensives, whose titles include School of Rock, The Drowsy Chaperone, James and the Giant Peach, Urinetown, and Legally Blonde. Love also directed the main stage holiday production of Matilda: The Musical and The Railway Children, a world premiere musical which he co-adapted and co-directed with Artistic Director Carol Dunne. Love is grateful to be a part of the BKA family!
