*THIS IS A VIRTUAL EVENT* JOIN US FOR A WONDERFUL WORKSHOP WITH TWO TIME TONY NOMINEE ALEX BRIGHTMAN!

HE’S BAAAAACCCCKKK! The incredible Alex Brightman teaches a song or monologue performance workshop for BKA. Alex is currently starring as Beetlejuice in the Broadway smash hit, BEETLEJUICE and we are thrilled to have him back at BKA! Alex will give incredible feedback on your song or monologue, giving feedback this is not to be missed!

This workshop is strictly limited to 12 students! Students ages 8-18 of all skill levels are welcome to join. Students will need to bring 16-32 bars of an audition song with sheet music in the correct key or a one-minute monologue. Please use an accompaniment track for your song (YouTube tracks are fine).

Alex Brightman is a writer and two-time Tony nominated actor. His Broadway credits include Beetlejuice, School of Rock, Matilda, Big Fish, Wicked, and Glory Days. He portrayed the role of Giuseppe Zangara in City Center's production of Assassins. Other credits include The History Boys (Ahmanson Theatre), Next to Normal (Pioneer Theatre), and Soon (Signature Theatre). On television, he can be seen on Documentary Now!, The Good Fight, SMILF, and Impractical Jokers. For the stage, Alex has written the book to the upcoming musical adaptation of It's Kind of a Funny Story (Universal Theatrical/Second Stage) with composer Drew Gasparini. Both of his full-length plays, We Left it Here and Everything is Fine are currently in development. He is also the proud owner of an unfairly cute dog named Kevin.

This workshop is for educational purposes only and cannot and will not be considered an audition. We will not be able to share any video recording of this workshop to ensure we maintain a safe space for all participants. Students are encouraged to take handwritten or typed notes during the workshop for their reference.

While all levels are welcome in this workshop, please discern whether your child is ready to supportive yet direct and constructive feedback before enrolling in this class.

Alex also requests that you take this class and ask questions through the lens of technique and education so we can all become better actors and performers.
